AI Features (Pro Only)
Pro unlocks AI-powered features throughout Foundry. All features use Claude by Anthropic. Your data is not used to train any models.

AI usage is logged per feature and visible in Settings → Preferences. Each call records input tokens, output tokens, and estimated cost.
Downgrade Behavior
If you downgrade from Pro to Free:
- No data is deleted. Every idea, project, decision, asset, and review snapshot remains intact.
- You can't create new items beyond free limits, no new ideas above 200, no new active projects above 3
- AI features become unavailable (except 5 triage calls/month)
- Data export is disabled
- Focus/Capacity controls become view-only (you can see your capacity but can't edit limits or focus lane)
- You can still access and edit existing data, archive, update, delete, etc.
You can re-upgrade at any time to restore full access. Your data is never held hostage.
Data Export
Pro users can export all workspace data from Settings → Data & Privacy:

Exports download directly to your browser. No data is sent to third-party services. The JSON export is the most complete, it includes everything needed to reconstruct your entire workspace.
Billing Management
All billing is managed from Settings → Billing:
- Upgrade. Choose monthly ($25/mo) or annual ($250/yr, ~17% savings). Payment via Stripe.
- Manage Subscription. Opens the Stripe billing portal where you can:
- Switch between monthly and annual
- Cancel your subscription
- View invoice history
- Cancellation. You keep full Pro access through the end of your current billing period. After that, you're automatically downgraded to Free.
Foundry does not store your payment details. All payment processing is handled by Stripe.
FAQ
No formal trial, but the free tier gives you access to most features. AI features (the main Pro differentiator) have 5 free calls per month so you can evaluate quality.
Can I get a refund?
Contact support (contact@foundry-os.io) within 14 days of your first payment. No questions asked.
What payment methods are accepted?
All major credit and debit cards via Stripe. No cryptocurrency, wire transfer, or invoice billing.
Is my payment information secure?
Yes. Foundry never sees or stores your card number. Stripe handles all payment processing and is PCI Level 1 certified (the highest level of security certification).
What happens if my payment fails?
Stripe retries failed payments automatically. If payment fails repeatedly, your subscription moves to "past_due" status. You keep Pro access during the retry period. If in the end unresolvable, you're downgraded to Free.
Can I switch between monthly and annual?
Yes. Go to Settings → Billing → Manage Subscription. Stripe handles the proration.
