1. Information We Collect
Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials via our identity provider (Clerk).
User Content: We store the data you enter into Foundry, including ideas, projects, decisions, commitments, and related metadata. This data is yours and is stored to provide the Service.
Usage Data: We collect anonymous analytics data (page views, feature usage) via PostHog to improve the Service. This data is not personally identifiable.
Payment Information: Payment details are collected and processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number. We receive your Stripe customer ID and subscription status.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- To process payments and manage your subscription
- To send transactional emails related to your account
- To provide AI-powered features (Pro plan only) by sending relevant data to our AI provider (Anthropic)
- To monitor for errors and fix bugs (via Sentry)
- To analyze anonymous usage patterns to improve the product
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate Foundry:
- Clerk. Authentication and identity management
- Supabase. Database hosting (PostgreSQL)
- Stripe. Payment processing
- Anthropic. AI features (Pro plan only; your data is not used to train models)
- PostHog. Anonymous product analytics
- Sentry. Error tracking and monitoring
- Resend. Email delivery (digest notifications, trial warnings)
- Vercel. Application hosting
Each service has its own privacy policy. We only share the minimum data necessary for each service to function.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted by Supabase in the United States. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. We use industry-standard security practices to protect your data. Access to production data is restricted to authorized personnel only.
5. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data and workspace content from our production database immediately as part of that deletion, except where we are required to retain specific records by law (for example, payment records held by Stripe for accounting purposes). Anonymized analytics data may be retained indefinitely. Routine database backups may contain residual copies of deleted records for up to 30 days before they are purged.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data at any time through the Service
- Export your data (Pro plan)
- Delete your account and all associated data
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Object to processing of your data for analytics purposes

7. Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We use PostHog for analytics, which may set cookies to track anonymous usage. We do not use advertising cookies or sell data to advertisers.
8. Children's Privacy
Foundry is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or a notice in the Service. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
