Recommendations
All 8 recommendation types with exact trigger conditions, thresholds, priorities, and actions.
What are Recommendations?
Recommendations are system-generated alerts based on your actual workspace data. Every recommendation is deterministic and traceable, it fires because a specific condition in your data is true. There are no vague suggestions, no AI-generated advice, and no random tips.
Recommendations surface on:
- Today page. High-priority alerts only
- Overview page. Health bar shows actionable warnings
- Recommendations page. Complete list with all priorities
Recommendation Types. Complete Reference
- Trigger: Active project count > maxActiveProjects
- Example: "You have 5 active projects (limit: 3)"
- Action: Park or complete a project to return below capacity
2. STALE_CAPTURES (Priority: Medium → High at ≥ 10)
- Trigger: ≥ 3 RAW ideas older than 30 days
- Escalation: Becomes high priority at ≥ 10 stale ideas
- Action: Review in Triage or bulk-archive from Vault
3. STALLED_TRIAGE (Priority: Medium)
- Trigger: ≥ 1 idea in IN_TRIAGE status for 7+ days
- Action: Complete triage scoring or quick-park the idea
4. OVERDUE_REVIEW (Priority: High)
- Trigger: DecisionLog with revisitAt ≤ now and no verdict set
- Shows: Up to 3 overdue decisions
- Action: Open each decision, review, assign verdict
5. REVISIT_PARKED (Priority: Medium)
- Trigger: PARKED ideas created 60+ days ago with opportunity score ≥ 60
- Shows: Up to 2 parked ideas
- Action: Re-evaluate, conditions may have changed since parking
6. RECURRING_THEME (Priority: Low)
- Trigger: Tags with ≥ 5 total items across ≥ 2 object types
- Action: View on Relationships page, may warrant a dedicated project or asset
7. CONVERT_TO_ASSET (Priority: Medium)
- Trigger: ≥ 2 CLASSIFIED ideas with convertible capture types, created 14+ days ago
- Convertible types: INSIGHT, PROMPT_ASSET, FRAMEWORK
- Action: Review in Vault, these may be reusable IP worth promoting to assets
8. CAPACITY_WARNING (Priority: Medium to High, 4 subtypes)
See below for detailed breakdown.
Capacity Warning Subtypes
The CAPACITY_WARNING recommendation has four distinct triggers:
| Subtype | Priority | Trigger | Action |
|---|---|---|---|
| --------- | ---------- | --------- | -------- |
| Energy Mix | Medium/High | ≥ 2 active DRAINING projects AND zero COMPOUNDING | Add long-horizon work or park draining |
| Unclassified Energy | Medium | ≥ 1 active project with null energy AND ≥ 2 total active | Set energy types on all projects |
| Park Candidates | High | Active projects with burden ≥ 7 AND strategic score ≤ 3 | Park the high-cost, low-value project |
| High Portfolio Burden | High | Total burden / max possible > 70% across ≥ 2 projects | Reduce maintenance load |
Dismissing Recommendations
You can dismiss any recommendation. Dismissed recommendations are scoped to a specific type AND subject (the specific idea, project, or tag that triggered it).
Dismissal behavior:
- The recommendation disappears immediately
- It stays dismissed until the underlying condition resets OR the dismissal expires
- Dismissals can have an optional expiry date, after which the recommendation reappears if conditions still hold
- You can undo a dismissal from the Recommendations page
Important: Dismissing an OVERLOAD_ALERT doesn't change your active project count, it just hides the warning. The underlying condition still exists.
FAQ
No. Recommendations are built into the system. Each one corresponds to a specific data query. Custom alerts are not supported.
How often do recommendations refresh?
Recommendations are computed on every page load, they always reflect the current state of your workspace. There is no caching or delay.
Why don't I see any recommendations?
If your workspace is healthy (no overdue decisions, no stale captures, not over capacity), you won't have recommendations. That's the goal, an empty recommendations page means your system is clean.
