Building a High-Value Vault
Creating and curating reusable assets that compound over time
By the end of this module
What Makes an Asset Worth Keeping
An asset is worth adding to the vault if:
1. You'd use it again (or are already using it)
2. It took you significant effort to develop
3. It encodes a lesson you don't want to re-learn
4. It could be applied to multiple projects
A prompt you run once is not an asset. A prompt you run every week for customer research is absolutely an asset.
Asset Types and When to Use Them
| Type | Use For |
|---|---|
| ------ | --------- |
| PROMPT | AI prompts you use repeatedly |
| COPY_FRAMEWORK | Headline structures, email frameworks, CTA patterns |
| LAUNCH_FRAMEWORK | Go-to-market playbooks, launch checklists |
| STRATEGIC_PRINCIPLE | Rules you operate by ("never compete on price alone") |
| LESSON_LEARNED | Hard-won insights from past projects |
| PRODUCT_TRUTH | Things you know to be true about your product or market |
| DECISION_PATTERN | Recurring decision types and how you handle them |
| MESSAGING_ASSET | Positioning statements, taglines, key messages |
| MONETIZATION_LOGIC | Pricing models, packaging logic, revenue frameworks |
| NAMING_HOOK | Brand names, product names, naming patterns |
| TECHNICAL_PATTERN | Architecture decisions, code patterns, tool workflows |
| BUSINESS_FRAMEWORK | Strategic models, market maps, competitive frameworks |
| OTHER | Use sparingly, if it doesn't fit, create a new category thinking |
The Reusability Flag
Assets marked "reusable" signal that they can be applied broadly, not just to the project they came from. Use this flag for:
- Prompts that work across product types
- Copy frameworks applicable to multiple launches
- Principles that guide all decisions, not just one project
Non-reusable assets are still valuable, they're just more project-specific.
Vault Maintenance
Review your assets quarterly:
1. Archive assets you no longer use
2. Update prompts that have been refined
3. Look for assets that should be linked (REUSABLE_FOR / SUPPORTS relationships)
A vault with 20 active, well-maintained assets beats a vault with 200 stale ones.
